Inverness has a range of restaurants including Rocpool Restaurant or may wish to try a country inn such as Loch Ness Inn or Dores Inn

Loch Ness & Inverness

You might like to take a boat trip with Jacobite Cruises on Loch Ness stopping off at the ruined Urquhart Castle, dating back to the 13th century, on the shores of the loch.   Inverness - the capital of the Highlands - is only a 20 min drive from the cottages and hosts a castle, cathedral, excellent shops, leisure centre/aquadome, Eden Court Theatre and cinemas.

Landscape & Wildlife

The Highland area is famed for its majestic, mountainous landscapes and rugged coastlines all teeming with wildlife including golden eagles, red deer, seals, otters and even a dolphin colony in the nearby Moray Firth.  The National Nature Reserve Glen Affric is reputed to be the most beautiful glen in Scotland with wonderful walking and wildlife-spotting opportunities and is just a half hour drive from the cottages.  The Walkhighlands website gives detailed information on numerous tried & tested walks across the Highland area.

Skye & the West Coast

Venture a little further afield and visit the beautiful West Coast with its rugged and dramatic scenery and picturesque villages such as Plockton or Applecross or even the mystical Isle of Skye.
